Guidelines & Best Practices

Last updated: 04 March 2026

The following guidelines are provided to help you prepare for and get the most out of your experience with hikinginseychelles.com. Please read them carefully before your activity.

1. Nature of Services

Our services include guided hikes, nature walks, sightseeing tours, driving tours, private transfers, and related outdoor experiences in Seychelles. These activities take place in natural, often remote environments where conditions may be unpredictable.

2. Physical Assistance

Guides may offer physical assistance (e.g. helping participants over obstacles, offering a hand on steep sections) as part of the experience. This assistance is provided in good faith for safety and comfort and does not constitute a guarantee against injury or discomfort.

3. Duration

Advertised durations for all activities are approximate. Actual duration may vary due to group pace, weather conditions, trail conditions, or safety decisions made by the guide.

4. Routes

Planned routes and itineraries may be changed at the guide's discretion based on conditions such as weather, trail accessibility, safety concerns, or group ability. Any such changes are made in the interest of safety and overall experience quality.

5. Guided Services

All guided experiences are led by a designated guide. Participants should follow the guide's instructions at all times, stay on marked paths where applicable, and remain with the group unless otherwise advised.

6. Transfers

Private transfers are provided between agreed pick-up and drop-off locations. Passengers must wear seatbelts at all times. Transfer times are estimates and may vary based on traffic, road conditions, or unforeseen circumstances.

7. Personal Belongings

You are responsible for your personal belongings at all times during the experience. We recommend leaving valuables at your accommodation and bringing only essentials. We are not liable for any loss, theft, or damage to personal property.

8. Health & Fitness

Participants should ensure they are in adequate physical health and fitness for the chosen activity. If you have any pre-existing medical conditions, injuries, allergies, or mobility limitations, please inform us before the activity. Certain experiences may not be suitable for all fitness levels.

9. Weather

Seychelles has a tropical climate, and weather conditions can change rapidly. Activities may proceed in light rain. In the event of severe weather or unsafe conditions, we reserve the right to modify, postpone, or cancel an activity. Please refer to the Cancellation & Refund Policy for details.

10. Clothing & Equipment

We recommend wearing appropriate clothing and footwear for your booked activity. For hiking, this typically includes:

  • Sturdy, closed-toe shoes with good grip (hiking boots or trail shoes)
  • Lightweight, breathable clothing suitable for tropical conditions
  • A hat and sunscreen for sun protection
  • A rain jacket or waterproof layer
  • Sufficient water and snacks

Specific requirements, if any, will be provided with your booking confirmation.

11. Children

Children are welcome on many of our experiences but must be accompanied by a responsible adult at all times. Some activities may have minimum age requirements or may not be suitable for young children due to difficulty or terrain. Please check the specific experience details or contact us in advance.

12. Accessibility

Many of our experiences take place in natural environments that may not be fully accessible to persons with reduced mobility. If you have specific accessibility needs, please contact us before booking so we can advise on suitability.

13. Sanitation

Many hiking trails and outdoor locations do not have toilet or sanitation facilities. Please plan accordingly. We ask that all participants respect the natural environment and follow Leave No Trace principles.

14. Photography

Guides may take photographs during the experience for promotional or operational purposes. If you do not wish to be photographed, please inform the guide at the start of the activity. By participating, you consent to the use of such images unless you opt out.

15. Wildlife

Seychelles is home to diverse wildlife. Please observe animals from a safe distance, do not feed or touch wildlife, and follow the guide's instructions regarding any animal encounters. Some trails may pass through areas with insects; insect repellent is recommended.

16. Group Participation

Some experiences may include other participants. We expect all participants to behave respectfully towards the guide, other group members, and the natural environment. We reserve the right to exclude any participant whose behaviour is disruptive, unsafe, or disrespectful, without refund.

17. Pace & Conduct

The guide sets the pace of the activity based on the group's ability and conditions. Participants who are unable to maintain a safe pace or who do not follow safety instructions may be asked to stop or turn back at the guide's discretion.

18. Relationship to Governing Policies

These guidelines are intended to support a safe and enjoyable experience. They are supplementary to, and do not replace, the binding policies published on this platform, including the Liability Disclaimer, Cancellation & Refund Policy, and Privacy Policy. In the event of any conflict, the governing policies shall prevail.
